Product Designer — AI & Voice Experiences at VoiceLap

What you’ll do

• Own product design from problem framing and user flows through polished interaction details.
• Design conversational, voice and AI-assisted experiences with clear expectations and graceful failure states.
• Create prototypes and validate ideas through lightweight user research and usability testing.
• Build accessible, responsive patterns and contribute to a practical VoiceLap design system.
• Collaborate closely with product and engineering to ship, measure and improve real experiences.

Working arrangement

This is a full-time, fully remote role for applicants based in India. We do not require a specific degree; a thoughtful portfolio and evidence of strong product judgment matter more.

What we’re looking for

• A portfolio showing end-to-end product thinking, interaction design and visual craft.
• Strong command of information architecture, responsive design and prototyping tools such as Figma.
• Understanding of accessibility, inclusive design and clear UX writing.
• Ability to explain design decisions using user needs, constraints and product outcomes.
• Comfort working through ambiguity and collaborating directly with engineers in an early-stage team.

Helpful, not required

• Experience designing AI, conversational, audio, wellbeing or trust-sensitive products.
• Familiarity with design systems, user research, motion or lightweight frontend implementation.
• Experience defining safe and transparent interactions for uncertain AI output.

Problems you may work on

• Helping people understand when they are interacting with AI and what the system can do.
• Designing voice journeys that remain usable when speech recognition or network conditions fail.
• Creating warm, trustworthy interfaces without hiding important privacy and safety information.
