Platform & AI Engineer at VoiceLap

What you’ll do

• Design backend services, internal APIs, queues, and data flows for AI product workloads.
• Improve deployment safety, monitoring, alerting, incident response, and capacity planning.
• Build guardrails for external model and speech providers, including retries and fallbacks.
• Strengthen security, privacy, secrets handling, and operational controls.
• Create practical platform abstractions that help engineers deliver features faster.

Working arrangement

This is a full-time, fully remote role for applicants based in India. We do not require a specific degree; equivalent practical skills and evidence of learning are welcome.

What we’re looking for

• Experience building and operating backend systems in Node.js, Python, Go, or similar.
• Good understanding of databases, networking, API design, Linux, and cloud fundamentals.
• A disciplined approach to observability, testing, security, and incident investigation.
• Ability to balance reliability with delivery speed in a growing startup.
• Clear written communication and a habit of documenting operational decisions.

Helpful, not required

• Experience with containers, CI/CD, infrastructure as code, or managed cloud platforms.
• Knowledge of AI inference workloads, vector databases, streaming, or provider failover.
• Experience supporting privacy-sensitive or real-time applications in production.

Problems you may work on

• Keeping multi-provider AI workflows reliable during rate limits and partial outages.
• Finding the right signals to diagnose latency across voice and model pipelines.
• Building secure deployment paths that remain simple for a small engineering team.
